     (*For many years Boston had a DJ at WCAS, then on the flagship WGBH
(and later on WUMB) playing folk music (and he briefly ran a "folk
station", WADN), Dick Pleasance. Dick died a few years ago after a long
illness. Many folks credit their careers to Dick and his championing of
their music. (I started my program partly because of Dick, but not in the
way that you may think.) One thing I liked about Dick's time on WGBH was
that he opened every program with Doc Watson's Windy and Warm. It set the
mood for his program very well.*)
